SNIPER ELITE 4 IMFDB 1080P
My television will do 120 hz at 1080p, and if I belonged to one of those equally plausible people who claims there's no difference between 1080p and 2160p, that would probably be enough. Never mind some people out there can't really perceive ("appreciate") the difference even at the lower end, even if I'm not one of them. At least on the PC I can change settings to balance it how I'd like.Įven the church of high-refresh monitors (they know who they are) has to admit that the difference between 60 hz to 120 hz is much more likely to enter diminishing returns than 30 to 60 hz. Which would make me extremely wary of getting a 120Hz TV, for fear of every 30fps console game suffering that way. But on the PC display I have to get to about 45fps before it looks right (it's G-Sync so tearing isn't an issue at an odd framerate). On my TV (which is a 60Hz maximum), it still looks absolutely fine to me, if obviously not as nice as 60fps. The one thing I have noticed with my PC display is that 30fps seems to look noticeably worse on that display. And as someone else said here a while back, when these companies - especially in the console space - still struggle to get a consistent 60fps, it seems even sillier trying to make 120fps a thing. Considering the reduction in graphical settings you need for 120fps on a demanding game (Dirt 5 is the best example I've seen on the Series X), I don't feel the trade-off is worth it. Certainly nothing like the very obvious difference between 30fps and 60fps. I have a 120Hz display on my PC (gaming laptop) but I'm pretty sure I can't visibly see a difference beyond 60fps.
